One of the great things about living in Central Texas is that we have the opportunity to do much of our work in a rural setting. Barker All Phase Construction has built numerous metal buildings, shops, sheds, horse barns and arenas for local clients to address the landscape and lifestyle of many area residents.
One construction project we’ve seen grow steadily the past few years is the barndominium.
A barndominium, the combination of a barn and condominium, is a new type of building growing in popularity, especially in rural areas of the United States. These unique homes can be found in environments as varied as Texas ranches and Connecticut equestrian communities.
A non-traditional structure, the barndominium is a steel or wood frame with sheet metal siding and roofing, originally designed as a storage building or barn structure that has been built with the addition of an apartment style or condominium style living area. This structure acts as a dual purpose living and shop or workspace area.
These homes offer features not usually found on typical homes including oversized roll-up doors, single enclosed areas large enough to hold things like boats, recreational vehicles, horse and other livestock.
One of the main advantages of building a barndominium or a house barn is it
generally costs much less than traditional homes and barns that are built separately.
And there’s nothing left to chance. Barker All Phase Construction handles the welding and any fabrication that your metal structure may need
